The AM-P6 addresses the same core workflow problem as the P7 — the inefficiency and patient stress of separate weighing and examining — but it takes a distinctly different approach. Where the P7 is a treatment-oriented table with weighing capability integrated into a durable stainless steel surface, the P6 is purpose-built as an examination table first, with the scale functioning as a seamless clinical tool rather than the headline feature. Same category, different philosophy, and the difference matters depending on how your exam rooms actually operate.

The tabletop on the P6 is wider and deeper than our surgical tables, designed to give the clinician room to perform a full physical exam — auscultate heart and lungs, palpate the abdomen thoroughly, assess joint mobility, examine eyes and ears — without the patient feeling crowded against the edge or the owner feeling like their pet is about to fall off. The surface has a non-slip texture that is especially important in an exam setting, where a nervous dog encountering an unfamiliar elevated platform needs secure footing to stay calm. A dog that feels stable is a dog that cooperates, and a cooperative patient makes for a faster, more thorough exam. The edges are fully rounded for safety during patient transfers.

The digital scale is embedded flush with the table surface, not raised above it creating a lip or ridge. No edge to trip over, no seam for fluids or hair to collect under, no hardware that complicates cleaning between patients. Accuracy is within 100 grams, the display is positioned for easy reading from the clinician’s working stance, and the tare function handles blankets, non-slip mats, and the occasional wiggling that makes weighing a live animal fundamentally different from weighing an inanimate object. Having an accurate, current weight at the start of every exam improves everything downstream: drug dosing is precise instead of approximate, nutritional counseling is based on real data, and anesthesia planning when surgery is indicated starts from the right numbers.

Electric lift handles 69 kilograms, spans 48 to 98 centimeters, and uses the same sealed foot pedal control as the rest of our line. The frame is stainless steel, the column housing is sealed against the hair, dander, and cleaning solutions that accumulate in busy exam rooms, and the base is weighted to remain stable even when a large dog decides to jump off rather than wait for assistance. That stability matters more in an exam room than a surgical suite, because the table is being approached from all sides by owners, technicians, and sometimes children who want to be near their pet.

For clinics that want to streamline the exam room without sacrificing the robustness of a proper examination table, the P6 is the integrated solution. One surface, one patient transfer, one consistent workflow from the moment the patient enters the room to the moment the discharge instructions are printed. It is the kind of improvement that does not show up in a dramatic before-and-after photo, but shows up in your team’s daily experience and your medical record completeness.
