Product Details

I visited a thirty-bed rehabilitation ward in Suzhou where the nursing station was in a converted patient room — the kind where the original bed space was replaced by a desk and filing cabinets. The head nurse’s records trolley was a metal cabinet on casters, repurposed from central supply, and it held about forty charts but required the nurse to walk around to the front of the trolley every time she needed a different chart because it was single-sided. That’s fine — single-sided is not a defect. But the cabinet was too wide for the corridor, so she parked it in the nursing station and walked back to it between every patient room. The 02CHT50AD is the records trolley that fits the corridor so the charts follow the nurse.

The AM-02CHT50AD is our single-sided medical records trolley with fifty chart slots — slightly fewer than the 02CHT60D2, but in a narrower frame designed for corridor use. Fifty slots in a single row means the trolley is about forty-five centimeters deep — shallow enough to park against a wall without blocking the corridor, which is the critical dimension when the trolley is being used as a mobile nursing station that follows the medication round from room to room. When the nurse stops outside a patient room to review the chart before entering, the trolley parks against the wall, the corridor remains passable, and the workflow doesn’t create a traffic jam.

The chart slots are the same angled design as the 02CHT60D2 — thirty degrees from vertical, individual compartments, clear label holders at the top. Fifty charts covers a typical thirty-bed ward plus buffer for new admissions, discharged patients whose records haven’t been archived yet, and the day-surgery patients who aren’t staying overnight but still have a chart. The top surface is an ABS work platform with a raised lip, sized for a tablet or a laptop — slightly smaller than the 02CHT60D2’s top, because the trolley is narrower, but still adequate for the point-of-care documentation that happens on rounds.

A lockable roll-top cover slides down over the chart compartments when the trolley is unattended — patient confidentiality is a legal requirement, not a suggestion, and a records trolley parked in a corridor during a lunch break or a staff meeting needs to keep its charts secured. The lock is the same pin-tumbler type used across our product line, keyed separately from medication trolleys so that the records key and the drug key are never held by the same person unless hospital policy permits it. Below the chart slots, a lower shelf stores blank forms, a three-hole punch, a stapler, and the administrative tools that live on every nursing unit’s chart trolley.

The frame is steel, powder-coated, with four casters at one hundred twenty-five millimeters — all locking, central release bar. The push handle is at one end, and the trolley is light enough when empty — about twenty-five kilograms — to be steered one-handed while the nurse carries other items. Fully loaded with fifty charts, it’s closer to sixty kilograms, but the casters track straight and the locking mechanism holds it securely on the slight grade of a hospital corridor floor.

The 02CHT50AD is the right choice for medium-sized wards, rehabilitation units, long-term care floors with thirty to forty patients, and any clinical environment where the chart trolley needs to be mobile — traveling with the nurse between rooms — rather than a stationary unit in a nursing station. If your ward exceeds forty patients or your team-based rounds require double-sided access, the 02CHT60D2 gives you more capacity and accessibility. But for the unit that needs a chart trolley that fits the corridor, follows the rounds, and holds everything the nurse needs to document at the bedside, the 02CHT50AD is sized correctly. Send me your census and corridor width — I’ll confirm which 02CHT model earns its footprint.
