Product Details

Not everyone who needs a quad cane needs the largest base on the market. The AM-FS9411L sits between our oversized outdoor quad cane (the 9412L) and our ultra-compact indoor model (the 936L)—a balanced four-foot design with a 16 cm by 12 cm base that provides standing stability without the maneuverability compromises of a larger footprint. If you’ve tried a single-point cane and found it unsteady when you stop walking, but you’re not ready for the bulk of a full-size quad base, this is the cane that splits the difference.

The four-foot base is rectangular with rounded corners—a shape that distributes weight evenly front to back and side to side. Each foot has an independent rubber tip with a slight flex that allows the base to conform to minor surface irregularities. On flat floors, all four feet make contact simultaneously. On slightly uneven surfaces, the flex in the individual tips compensates so the cane doesn’t rock. Unlike tripod canes (which have three feet and are inherently less stable in the lateral plane), the four-foot design provides balanced resistance to tipping in all directions. The cane stands upright on its own when you let go—on tile, hardwood, carpet, and even textured linoleum—which means you can use both hands to open a door, pay at a counter, or reach for something on a shelf without first finding somewhere to lean your cane.

The shaft is 6061 aluminum, 22 mm diameter, with a push-button height adjustment from 74 cm to 97 cm across eight positions at 3 cm increments. The handle is an ergonomic T-grip with a soft rubber cover. Total weight is 480 grams—slightly heavier than a single-point cane but significantly lighter than most quad canes in this base size category, which typically run 550 to 600 grams. Weight capacity is 120 kg. The rubber feet are the same replaceable design as our other quad models, and we stock replacement foot sets that ship with the same lead time as the canes themselves.

The 9411L is positioned as our “everyday quad cane”—it handles indoor environments comfortably and manages outdoor surfaces like sidewalks and paved paths without issue. If your daily routine involves moving between indoor and outdoor spaces, this is the quad cane I’d recommend. It’s stable enough for outdoor use, compact enough for indoor navigation, and priced at our mid-range for quad models. The base is also small enough to fit in the footwell of a car without awkward angling, which matters if you’re getting in and out of vehicles several times a day.
