I have spent a lot of time watching groomers work — not in a weird way, but standing in the corner of salons taking notes while they do their thing — and one pattern I kept seeing was how much time they spend turning away from the dog to grab tools. Shears from a cart behind them. A comb from the counter three steps away. A different blade from a drawer across the room. Every time they turn away, the dog shifts. Every shift means repositioning the dog, recentering on the table, finding the right angle again. The AM-Column Type grooming table puts the tools where the groomer is already standing, and that one change saves more time and frustration over a day than you would guess.
The defining feature is the built-in storage drawer mounted directly beneath the tabletop. It slides out smoothly on full-extension rails, holds a full set of shears, several combs and brushes, blade cases, thinning shears, and whatever small tools the groomer needs within a single session. The drawer interior is partitioned — shears on one side in dedicated slots that keep the blades from touching, combs and brushes on the other, small items like blade oil and ear powder in a divided front compartment. Tools do not slide around and dull each other’s cutting edges when the table moves up or down. The drawer closes flush with the table edge and does not catch on hoses, power cords, or the groomer’s clothing. The handle is recessed for the same reason.
The column-type lift design is the other piece of the puzzle. Instead of a scissor-lift base or dual-post mechanism with crossbars, the table is supported by a single central column that houses the electric lift motor. This design frees up space underneath the table — no crossbars to kick, no obstructive base plates to step around — so the groomer can step in close from any side and work without fighting the furniture. For groomers who sit on a stool for part of the session, especially during detailed face work or paw trims, the column design means there is knee room all the way around. No straddling a base plate, no sitting sideways because a support bar is in the way.
The tabletop is rectangular with a non-slip, chemical-resistant surface sized for small to medium breeds. Electric lift runs the standard 48 to 98 centimeters with sealed foot pedal control. Load capacity is 140 kilograms, which is more than the table will realistically see but provides the kind of stability margin that prevents the slight wobble some tables develop at full extension. The LED lighting on this model is positioned along the front edge of the table rather than the full perimeter — because the drawer mechanism occupies the underside, the lighting had to be reconfigured, and we chose placement that illuminates the primary work zone without compromising the drawer’s function.
This table solves a specific and universal workflow problem: the groomer who is tired of having their tools scattered across carts, counters, and shelves around the station. The AM-Column Type consolidates everything into the table itself. Less clutter in the salon, fewer steps per session, and more time with your hands on the dog instead of reaching for equipment.
